Bio: Dr. Jizhong Zhu is a Nationally high-level talent, a Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, a Foreign Corresponding Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Bologna, Italy, a Corresponding Member of National Academy of Artificial Intelligence, a Foreign Fellow of ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology, an IEEE Fellow, a Foreign Fellow of the China Electrotechnical Society (CSEE Fellow), an IET Fellow, and a Fellow of multiple AI associations. He is a Professor and PhD supervisor at South China University of Technology and a part-time Professor at Chongqing University. He serves as Chair of the IEEE PES Smart Buildings, Loads, and Customer Systems Technical Committee (China) and holds editorial and leadership roles in several international standards and journals. Dr. Zhu worked for over 20 years in the UK, Singapore, and the USA before returning to China in 2016 as a distinguished expert at China Southern Power Grid Research Institute. Since 2019, he leads the Integrated Smart Energy Systems Optimization team at South China University of Technology. He has published over 400 papers, holds more than 30 patents, authored several international books, and received numerous national and international awards, including IEEE International Standards Contribution Awards and the China Southern Power Grid Science and Technology Progress Special Prize.

Prof. Qinran Hu

Bio: Qinran Hu is a Professor, and Associate Dean at the School of Electrical Engineering, Southeast University, China. His research interests span distributed energy aggregation and control, energy systems design under extreme environments, and economic operation of power systems. He has led three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)—including Young Investigator, General, and Key-Joint grants—as well as a Jiangsu Distinguished Young Scholars grant and a sub-project of the National Key R&D Program. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals such as Nature Cities, Nature Communications, IEEE PES Transactions, and Applied Energy, and holds over 30 Chinese invention patents (including 2 technology transfers) and 1 U.S. patent. His work has been recognized with IEEE PES Best Paper Awards twice, the IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid Best Paper of the Year Award, the IEEE IAS Energy System Committee Best Paper Award, and a Gold Medal at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. He has also received seven provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards, including the First Prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Award (as first contributor). Prof. Hu serves as an Editorial Board Member for several flagship SCI journals, including IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, and as Chair of the IEEE PES Subcommittee on Low-Carbon Technologies. He is also Deputy Secretary-General of the Jiangsu Society for Electrical Engineering. His accolades include being named an IEEE PCCC Outstanding Young Engineer.
